In December 2019 a field study was conducted by of the INSPiRED team to Ibadan North and Akinyele Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Oyo State, Nigeria initiated by PhD student and PhD supervisor of UI. The field survey of these urban and rural areas, with moderate-to-high prevalence of Schistosomiasis was to explore current case management in Nigeria, identify barriers to accessing diagnostics from patient and healthcare workers perspective. Data collected served as input for the development of Target Product Profiles (TPP) for the devices currently under development in WP1 and to commence the Social Network Analysis (SNA) of WP2.
